Spartanics Unveils Two New Laser Cutting Machine Innovations at Labelexpo Europe 2011

Spartanics X140 Laser Cutting Station working in line with the INX NW140 UV Digital Narrow Web Printer: This unique system combines continuous printing and converting speeds of up to 30 meters/minute. By combining UV digital printing and laser converting, this system eliminates rotary die cutting tools and printing plates for quick turnaround of high quality labels. Label converters get multiple advantages eliminating delays and expenses for tooling; similarly eliminating time and expense for changeovers and plate fabrication and design; and the capabilities to make unsurpassed accuracy and high precision cutting and marking only possible with Spartanics laser cutting machines, including —kiss-cutting, through-cutting, consecutive numbering, personalizing, perforating, creasing.

Spartanics will demonstrate this laser cutting station innovation’s abilities: to handle job changeovers quickly; to combine multiple part layouts with varying geometries and step-ups in a single job; to automate optimization of cutting paths for fastest web speeds; and to control the laser beam for defect-free cutting eliminating burnthrough marks or pinholes at start or stop of cutting that are the cornerstone of all models of Spartanics laser cutting machines.

Designers’ Turnkey Digital Print-to-Laser Cutting System allows label converters pre-press operators to specify not only print but also cutting specifications with existing RIP (Rastor Image Process) software. The Designers’ Turnkey Digital Print-to-Laser Cutting System has the built-in capability to extract the vector data embedded in PDF, ONYX or other formats. In addition, the Designers’ Turnkey Digital Print-to-Laser Cutting System enables the use of bar codes to signal job changeovers for uninterrupted continuous production lines and the cost-efficiencies this affords for short-run jobs while achieving line speeds of up to 100m per minute.
